This is one of my favorite projects to date. I was hired to design and paint these office murals for Manifold, a developer marketplace startup. They're a "remote reliant" company, so most of their team is spread out across the world, but they do have a small group working out of their Halifax, Canada office and I was excited to help brighten the space.
I spent a lot of time talking to the Manifold team, working to find the simplest words that describe their complex (to me) biz model. Basically, they told me this industry has always been a walled garden—developers are limited to a monocloud, with large companies dictating which services they can use.
Manifold works to break down walls between developers and the services easily available to them, and to build the future of how developers will work. I love the juxtaposition of Break and Build. With Manifold's brand featuring gradients, I spent many hours on the floor of the paint store, testing swatches and picking colors that would blend seamlessely both on the 2 walls of hand lettered type and the center logo wall.
One flight to Nova Scotia and a week of painting later (with my amazing Canadian assistant Hannah), and the Manifold office was filled with vibrant, impactful artwork. I'm super proud of how this turned out, and am eager to paint some more giant words with a smooth gradient fill.
